About Erin

I became captivated by the possibilities offered through biology

while completing my law degree at the University of Alberta in 2013.

My practical side earned me my J.D., sometimes through gritted teeth, but the wild risk-taker in me moved to New York City immediately after writing my last exam to begin my career in biotech as Communications Director at New Harvest.

My time at New Harvest kicked off my exposure to the vibrant startup scene on both US coasts (and no, I haven’t seen HBO’s “Silicon Valley”, because apparently we were busy enough living it), and from NYC I moved to California to join Geltor in 2018.

There, I wore a number of different hats and helped bring several of consumer biotechnology’s first-ever commercial products from concept to shelf, resulting in industry accolades and millions of dollars of revenue earned through products sold across North America, Europe, and Asia, by recognized and respected brands.

As Geltor’s Creative Director, I led some of the boldest brand direction and creative work that had ever been dreamed up in biotech, where playing it safe and following the pharmaceutical industry’s playbook – or more often, not investing in Marketing, Communications, and Creative at all – had long been the status quo.

Now, I help founders, startup teams, investors, and corporates from a wide range of industries.

I love applying the rich insights and lessons learned from my experiences commercializing biotechnology to clients’ specific goals, using a blend of interdisciplinary tactics, and through my strong relationships across the world of biology and its growing intersections with industries including beauty and personal care, medical aesthetics, fashion, food and beverage, and emerging areas including mining (a great source of Canadian pride for me, a girl raised in beautiful Vancouver, BC).

I am privileged and grateful to have built an incredibly diverse and highly-skilled professional and personal network spanning the globe, and my work and many other interests often bring me to locations across the U.S. and Canada, Europe, Asia, and South America.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta.

(That’s me in the middle, after giving a lecture on biomaterials at
Parsons School of Design)
